Carolina’s Got Art! is a month-long, juried arts exhibition and sale, sponsored by Elder Galleryin Historic South End, to celebrate and support artists from North and South Carolina. On Thursday night, September 30, a select list of VIPs and the media were given the first look at what is quickly becoming the largest juried art show in the Carolinas. This is a chance to see beautiful art that celebrates the Carolinas in the heart of the Carolinas' Creative District.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. —FABO Café, a purveyor of regional visual and food artists, will open late October, in Tranquil Court on Selwyn Avenue. Owner Amy Aussieker offers local artists a forum to showcase their affordable, original artwork and strives to promote regional artists who help to make Charlotte unique. In addition to visual art, FABO offers food art, from vendors including Tizzerts and Edible Arts.
The 3rd Annual Charlotte Fine Art Show happens October 9 & 10 at the Park Expo & Conference Center (formerly called Charlotte Merchandise Mart). This is a high quality, juried fine art & craft even - This is Charlotte’s Premier Cultural Event with world renowned and top notch local artists. On Friday, October 8, prior to the show there is a sampling of 15-20 artists on preview in Uptown Charlotte, on the corner of Trade & Tryon Streets, at Bank of America/Disk Plaza. His work was recently purchased by the White House and is currently on exhibit at the Harvey B. Gantt African American Museum, of which five pieces are coming to the Charlotte Fine Art Show! Levine Foundation Again Kicks Off Fundraising with $1 Million
Effort Moves to United Way of Central Carolinas
Sept. 21, 2010 (Charlotte) – Foundation For The Carolinas and United Way of Central Carolinas announced jointly today that the Critical Need Response Fund will be repeated for a third year. The fund has already received its first funding in the form of a $1 million challenge grant from Sandra and Leon Levine and the Leon Levine Foundation. This year, the fundraising effort will be operated by United Way.
The McColl Center for Visual Art operates on the belief that art and artists are catalysts for cultural advancement. The center thus prides itself on being the area's leader in advancing creative capacity for artists and the public alike. The center accomplishes this through residencies, exhibitions, outreach and educational programs that make contemporary art accessible to all.
