I had the pleasure of meeting Karly and Sean on St. Patrick's Day weekend. When they told me their plan of starting a new sports league, I wanted to let our readers know.
Elevate Lifestyle's TOP 30 UNDER 30 "Future Leaders Of Charlotte"
Elevate Lifestyle is seeking Charlotte's outstanding entrepreneurs, executives, managers and professionals in public, and non-profit sectors for its 2013 TOP 30 UNDER 30 awards. Nominees will be short-listed based on a range of criteria, including professional achievement, experience, innovation, leadership and community involvement. Winners will be profiled in Elevate Lifestyle's June Issue and online at http://www.ElevateLifestyle.com and will then be honored at the gala awards reception in June at SUITE.
This month’s issue is our annual “Dining Guide.” Charlotteans are crazy about Food Truck these days, so we spoke with a couple of passionate food truck entrepreneurs to get the 411. This month there are some amazing festivals coming to Charlotte. Festa Italiana at Queen's University; and Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival are events not to be missed. The 3rd Annual Mac & Cheese Eating Contest at Whiskey Warehouse is also sure to be a good time.
After you head out to all these foodie events you will probably want to hit the gym, but before you do check out our article on Fight Gone Mad (Not your typical gym!!). If you would rather go dance it off at some of Charlotte's newest night spots, head to The Oak Room in Southend (grand opening was April 20th), or Bubble Lounge at the EpiCentre (opens in the middle of May).
Reggie Williams on life in the QC, the Bobcats and giving back!
Reggie Williams is so much more than a typical (or what you think) is the typical Pro Athlete. A Shooting Guard for your Charlotte Bobcats does so much more than “play ball”; he spends time doing so many positive things within our community as well as dedicating time and energy to his hometown community in Virginia. I got the opportunity to sit and chat with Reggie about a few things and learned he has so much to offer the Charlotte community outside of his Basketball skills.
Is there a skill, language or hobby that you have planned to develop, but have never had the time to pursue? With the New Year, many of us will renew this pledge, but this is no guarantee that 2013 will be the year that we achieve our desired proficiency. However, combining a program of learning with a vacation can be the perfect opportunity to finally get to grips with learning to paint, speak French or perfect your cookery skills. A huge range of residential courses are available across the globe, so whatever your interest, you will certainly find one to meet your needs. It’s also a great excuse to explore a new country, as it won’t be all work during your break; you will have plenty of time to see the surrounding countryside and visit the nearby attractions. Here we provide an overview of three European vacations that allow you to learn something new.
