Coco Couture Q&A

By Alex Smith

Elevate Lifestyle: Being a brand new boutique, tell us a little bit about yourself? CoCo Couture: I have over 20 years experience in the design area.  I have felt living in the Lake Norman area we did not offer an upscale women’s boutique that truly carried your unique designers all women love, such as Trina Turk, Tory Burch, Lafayette 148, Ark & Company, RYU and many more.  I felt women were having to travel on 77 (which is a disaster) to South Park to shop designers we all love and enjoy wearing.  I came up with the concept of CoCo Couture because I wanted to bring the NYC and European designers to the Lake Norman market but wanted to offer an affordable price point to my clients.  CoCo Couture is truly an amazing boutique.  With mahogany hardwood floors, crystal Swarovski chandeliers, blue heron walls covered in silk wall coverings and of course…unique designs…we felt this was much needed in the LKN area.  We chose Jetton Village because of it’s familiarity and convenience to our clients.

EL: How long have you worked in the Fashion industry?  CCC: I have over 20 years of experience in the fashion/retail industry.  I worked on the design floor for a major furniture chain and then owned an upscale children’s boutique and yoga studio.

EL: How did you come up with the name “CoCo Couture”? CCC: CoCo Chanel is one of my favorite designers…and “Couture” speaks for itself!

EL: How would you describe the style of clothes that you carry? CCC: Unique, stunning, elegant yet affordable.

EL: Do you have a specific audience you are trying to reach?  CCC: We carry styles that are a sure fit for any personality and we plan to focus on classic yet traditional.

EL: Do you have an online shopping option? CCC: Yes, on our website at TheCoCoCouture.com.

EL: Do you have personal shopper for your new clients? CCC: Yes, we have 3 fully staffed couture specialist.

EL: Do you carry accessories to go with your clothes? CCC: Yes, we have all types of accessories that will go well with whatever you chose to purchase, varying from hats to necklaces.

EL: What is the boutiques range of style in terms of casual to formal? CCC: Mostly casual.

EL: How often do you get new items in? CCC: New items are shipped to us weekly!

EL: Are you planning any sales or events for after your opening? CCC: At our affordable price point…every day is a sale day!

EL: What makes your boutique unique compared to larger department stores? CCC: These are collections that scream inspiration, and express our personalities.  Each piece is handpicked by our owner and is anything but “department-store friendly.”  Exquisite palettes of an array of colors are the focal point to this boutique.

EL: Why should customers choose your CoCo Couture over another boutique? CCC: We focus on exceptional customer service and want to get to personally know our clients…on a first name basis!

EL: You take a lot of pride in the décor of the shop, how did you get the inspiration for that? CCC: With having a background of over 20 years in the design industry, each project is different and the focus in our boutique is classic, traditional but paired with a vintage inspired theme that truly accents our collections.

EL: What vibe are you trying to give off to your new customers? CCC: That our boutique is truly “couture” without the “couture” prices.

EL: What are your hours? CCC: Monday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm and also by appointment only on Sunday’s

EL: Is there anything else you would like the readers to know? CCC: CoCo Couture is locally owned and operated and supported by a private investor.  CoCo Couture has been carefully planned with the strict focal point of providing our clients with exceptional designer apparel at a fraction of the price of that of a department store.  We want to get to know our clients and we want them to let us know what they like!
