301 Bay St, Monroe, NC 28112
The Nordan family has had grapes on their vines on their Monroe, NC farm for over 50 years and had been making wine for their personal use. But, in 2004, they decided it was time to plant a vineyard in Monroe. The first vines of Treehouse Vineyards were planted in spring of 2005. Since then, they have planted eight varieties of muscadines, a grape native to the area. They now offer both viniferous and muscadine wines.
But, where do the treehouses come in? As a child, owner Phil Nordan was fascinated with building treehouses, in the spring of 1999, he’d decided to build one for his wife, Dianne, and him. This is now the treehouse they refer to as Date Night, it sits 30 feet in the air, overlooking the vineyard. They now even have a treehouse that allows wine lovers to stay overnight called Papa’s Dream.

Before opening the doors to their tasting room in 2008, they doubled production of their 2007 harvest from the year before.
They develop their wines in very small lots, with some estate wines totaling as few as 25 cases, and total production currently limited to 1,500 cases per year.
