Southern-inspired Gelato Shop to open Optimist Hall Food Stall on August 1. The sweet treat masters behind Atlanta-based Honeysuckle Gelato are thrilled to announce the opening of their second location at Optimist Hall in Charlotte, NC! Honeysuckle Gelato has been a staple in Atlanta since their food truck days beginning in 2011. Now, Honeysuckle offers its gelato at their brick-and-mortar location in Atlanta’s Ponce City Market, Charlotte’s Optimist Hall, and in select retail locations across the Southeast. Honeysuckle Gelato’s rotating flavors are served up in scoops, sandwiches, shakes, and slushies (Charlotte only). Their hand-crafted gelato is the perfect balance of innovative and classic, all while remaining distinctly inspired by their Southern roots. Honeysuckle’s motto is to “Be Sweet,” which goes much beyond the flavors. The company is a proud partner of the Feeding America Network and donates 5% of company-wide profits. In Charlotte, Honeysuckle will partner with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. The grand opening of Optimist Hall will be held Thursday, August 1 from 10:30a.m. – 9:00p.m.

Honeysuckle® Gelato began in 2011 as the passion project of three friends Jackson Smith, Wes Jones, and Khatera Ballard, with a simple mission to “Be Sweet.” Beginning as a food truck, Honeysuckle Gelato has always been as rich, creamy and smooth as it is innovative. Serving up scoops, pints, gelato sandwiches and milkshakes in flavors inspired by its Southern roots, Honeysuckle Gelato offers flavors such as Brown Butter Crunch, Lemon Raspberry Crumble, and Bourbon Pecan Praline! Honeysuckle Gelato is available in restaurants and local grocers across the Southeast. They also have a brick-and-mortar location at Ponce City Market in Atlanta, at Optimist Hall in Charlotte, and a third brick-and-mortar slated to open in 2019 at Pinewood Forest in Fayetteville, GA. Beyond the flavors, Honeysuckle Gelato continues to “Be Sweet” by proudly partnering with the Atlanta Community Food Bank to donate 5% of company-wide profits. Honeysuckle Gelato also partners with Georgia-based employment programs Westside Works and Friends of Refugees.
