OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE WELCOMES ‘MATES’ IN CHARLOTTE WITH A NEW RESTAURANT
New location brings 60 new jobs, supports local charity
Charlotte, Nc. (October 10, 2017) – A new Outback Steakhouse® is bloomin’ in Charlotte, North Carolina, bringing 60 new jobs to the community. Located at the Belgate Shopping Center at 8405 Ikea Boulevard, the new Outback will officially open to guests on Monday, October 16, at 11:00 a.m. To mark the grand opening, the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce will preside over a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m.
“We are so proud of our new restaurant in Charlotte and can’t wait to welcome our friends, neighbors and 140 employees to the new location,” said Lindsey Teepe-Pietrangelo, managing partner of the Charlotte Outback location. “We hope everyone will enjoy and have a chance to experience the restaurant’s updated ‘Modern Australia’ design.”
As part of Outback Steakhouse’s ongoing nationwide charity give-back program, and to show its support for the Charlotte community, 50-percent* of sales on October 16 will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association – Western Carolina Chapter, which aims to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research.

Lambert, CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association – Western Carolina Chapter. “We are looking forward to using the funds from the grand opening to provide patient and family services, information and referral, education, and advocacy to the 49 central and western North Carolina counties.”
The new Outback Steakhouse replaces a previous location at 1015 Chancellor Park Drive, which closed on October 8. Guests at the new Outback will be able to enjoy signature grilled steaks, chicken and seafood entrees, and the Bloomin’ Onion in a restaurant boasting the chain’s new “Modern Australia” design, with décor that mirrors the indigenous flora and fauna, adventure, geography and leisure of modern day Australia. Featuring a spacious dining area and a large bar area that can accommodate 240 guests, the 6,497-square foot restaurant will employ 140 employees, 60 of whom are new hires. This location will also offer delivery.
