Raleigh Brewing is Uniting North Carolina’s Passion for Bluegrass and Craft Beer with One Giant Part
Raleigh Brewing is hosting their 3rd Annual NeighBREWhood Party on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 5 p.m. to midnight. The NeighBREWhood Party is a compilation of three local craft beer companies, local food trucks, local bands and the release of Dear Ol’ Dixie Pale Ale, which is a tribute to the International Bluegrass Music Awards in Raleigh every September. Essentially, this party is more than a beer release party, it is a celebration to the Raleigh community for embracing craft beer and making it a local culture.
Raleigh Brewing opened in March 2013 alongside its two sister companies, Atlantic Brew Supply and ABS Commercial. Together the three companies help elevate craft beer as a whole and all under one roof. Atlantic Brew Supply is the largest brick and mortar homebrew supply shop on the East Coast and ABS Commercial is a tank supplier to breweries in 34 states and four countries. These companies are joining forces to bring Raleigh the NeighBREWhood Party.
Atlantic Brew Supply will be offering homebrew classes with live demonstrations starting at 10 a.m. the day of the NeighBREWhood Party, giving local residents a chance to learn the art of brewing beer. There will also be prize giveaways and special sales within the homebrew shop earlier in the day. ABS Commercial will be conducting a brewery tour with Raleigh Brewing’s head brewer, Scott Craddock, at 3 p.m. to showcase their wide range of tanks and brewery equipment that is available.
“We release our seasonal, Dear Ol’ Dixie, every year to welcome the IBMAs to Raleigh and to celebrate the rich culture of bluegrass in North Carolina,ȋ Kristie Nystedt, Owner and CEO of all three companies, said about the annual NeighBREWhood Party. The music at the NeighBREWhood Party will start at 5 p.m. Live Music will be performed by local artists The Hey Brothers and The Hardworker Band. Both bands encompass a twang you can only get from a modern day bluegrass band. The beer being released is Raleigh Brewing’s Dear Ol’ Dixie Pale Ale. The label for the beer is a banjo made of an acorn (for the City of Oaks) and contains a write up for the International Bluegrass Music Awards (IBMAs) that will be happening indowntown Raleigh, September 2017. Bluegrass has deep roots in North Carolina and that was an important aspect when choosing a theme for this local gathering and the beer.
The 32 taps pouring at Raleigh Brewing during the NeighBREWhood Party will be served alongside multiple local food trucks through out the day. The morning shift for the food trucks will consist of a local ice cream truck that will be featuring beer ice cream (nonalcoholic) and one other food truck. The night shift (5-midnight) will consist of four food trucks, ranging in food genres. This will include a gluten free food truck to pair with the gluten free cider on tap. The taproom is open from noon-midnight every the day of the NeighBREWhood Party.
